The Green Room Lounge Lizard-Blackfire

Was just blown away by Blackfire. Native American siblings all about social justice yet completely rockin' and heavy. Their guitarist is in Arizona, participating in activism against a mountaintop being destroyed with pipelines for wastewater so fake snow can be made. The singing bass player, Jeneda, is flying to Arizona tomorrow to join him, but hopefully they'll make it up here to the Green Room Lounge later tonight and do a little set for us. So yeah, they sounded great with just a bass, drums, and a megaphone as instruments, opening their set with 3 generations of family on stage, their Dad, and their tiny kids, all singing together beautifully. Late they wiere joined by a washboardist (i think that's what it was). I think I love this band and look forward to write more about them later, nerd that I am I took notes. Right now I am off to check out Ayurveda, the band that I can hear from a distance.
