Who Are We?

We are local residents, small-business owners, entrepreneurs, and their families. You see us at Gimme! coffee, the Ithaca Bakery, and many other great local businesses. Some of us have lived here all our lives, some have emigrated from distant countries, some have returned after many years away. What we have in common is a commitment to a thriving local economy founded on the enterprise and hard work of our community.



Our Mission:



We feel that the global economy and the multinational corporate model has not been beneficial to everyone. Big-box stores ship food and goods halfway around the world, at a terrible cost to the environment, sell them at tantalizingly low prices, and send most of the profit back out of the community and, in many cases, out of the country.

We aim to recapture an old-fashioned community-based economy, that benefits our closest neighbors and offers something precious that’s not available in the vacuum of the corporate superstores: civic pride.



Q: So how do we empower small businesses in an advertising climate dominated by big corporations?

A: We take the latest Internet technology and create our own network. And we run nothing but local advertising. We get unplugged!


This site is a mirror we can hold up to our community (and the world) to show how much we have to offer one another locally. This is a culturally rich and geographically spectacular area -- a great place to start a revolution!
